Bespoke Hogaboom livestream, tracksuit

Babies it’s tough out there!

I’m pleased to announce the latest editions to my livestream schedule. In April we will be making a tracksuit! Yes, that’s right – a hoodie and bottoms – with pockets, naturally!

We are using two patterns to accomplish this. All the information about the patterns and materials needed, are included in this post – as well as the links to RSVP to the Facebook event (where the livestream will be hosted). Read on!

We will be using the following. The:

and the:

MADEIT HUG HOODIE (April 11th and 12th, 12 PM PST)

You can watch my livestream on my Facebook page, Bespoke Hogaboom – or join right alongside me in Zoom!

For the tracksuit, you will need:

  • 5(ish) yards of a 25% 4-way stretch fabric. I recommend around 300 gsm.
  • Contrast fabric for hood lining, stripes (leg/arm), and drawstring
  • Trim for side stripes (optional)
  • Grommets (optional)
  • Stretch/wooly nylon thread (optional but recommended)
  • Note: I am drafting inset pockets, so I will not be demonstrating nor using zippers
  • Your patterns (as follows):

Ellie & Mac’s Good Vibes Joggers: 29″ to 60″ chest, 33 1/2″ to 63″ hip
Madeit Hug Hoodie: 31″ to 44″ chest

Here is how I am arriving at my fabric estimate. Say I am making a tracksuit for an individual who measured as follows:

height: 5’6″
chest: 35″
waist: 30″
hip: 41″

For this individual, the proper joggers size will be Large. This requires 2 1/4 yards of fabric since I am making regular length joggers. For the hoodie, the appropriate pattern size is 10/12, which requires 1 3/4 yards. Therefore 5 yards should be plenty.

Remember – it’s always a good idea to order a li’l extra fabric. It can be annoying trying to franken-pattern when your yardage is a bit shy!

And that’s it, to get started! I recommend you RSVP to the Facebook event, as that will help you keep abreast of reminders.

See you April 6th!
